NAME: Elevine Malm-Hrið
AGE: 13
GENDER: N/A
SCHOOLING YEAR: 1st year
SPECIES: Nymph (Void)
PLACE OF ORIGIN: Nykan, Norway
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Unlike most nymphs she is a void nymph, which if one is unfamiliar with nymph culture, implies being shunned by your mother, and being segregated from the other nymphs as a whole, which made her quite bitter, yet in some ways better. Most nymphs, learn to control their powers in their early years, but being shunned has made her want to prove herself, which is why at such a young age she is even capable of using her Elemental Control. She is a rather nice person on the whole, but being so bitter, she will not hesitate to jump at you if you hurt her, although her sister will often keep her out of trouble, calming her down before she does anything stupid.
LIKES: Boats, islands, and sailors
DISLIKES: Crashes, fires, socializing
STRENGTHS: Always within her element, not restricted by species wide personality traits, strong link with her sister
WEAKNESSES: Blood loss affects her power, does not trust easily,
FEARS: Flying, Being shunned once again
POWER(S):
Blood Control: Due to her specialization Elevine has control over blood, though only her own; being a nymph she has a strong control over her element as long as she is present within it, and seeing as her element is her own blood her control rarely becomes weak. Due to the way that nymphs control their elements, Elevine is capable of controlling many small “parts” of her element at once, although each additional “part” she controls the less power she has for each.
Shared thoughts: She and her sister have a certain mental link, allowing them to communicate telepathically, however only to each other, the distance at which this is possible depending on how powerful they are at the moment of use.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Being a nymph, she has a rather short stature to begin with, and being so young doesn’t help her in this sense either; She adorns white hair, and a light red coloration to her eyes, this being the only real color to her body is often stands out as the first thing people notice. Generally wearing some form of dress, aiming to seem proper, in hopes of redeeming herself in the eyes of her mother, though at times may be seen wearing much more casual clothing if the occasion where it would be proper to were to arise.
HISTORY: The history of the (Malm-)Hrið family is a rather regular one given who we are; Our mother wanted an ocean nymph daughter to continue the long lineage of our nymphic heritage, but ocean nymphs are hard to breed. As nymphs the future mothers must find a male and trick them into conceiving in a given environment for the nymph to be born from that element; remembering that our mother was an ocean nymph she would have needed to find a partner with who to conceive at the bottom of the ocean, and make sure that he died or give birth to twins, the greatest dishonor in nymphic society. That’s where I come in; she managed to find someone but she never managed to bring him to the bottom of the ocean, even less kill him, meaning that I was to be born a void nymph, the symbol of dishonor.
We grew up in the small town close to where we were born, on a very small island composed of only a lighthouse and a few houses, a sailor’s island as my sister would put it. The villagers raised us there, on jolly spirit and stories of Davy Jones. For years we wondered who we were,
until one day our mother appeared revealing herself only to my sister, I started despising them both at that moment, but later that day my sister actually informed of all that my mother said leading me to forgiving her, but my mother… I always wished I could say that she was dead to me, but I could never let myself get there, instead doing all I could to please her. My sister had tried time and again to get me to go see our mother, but every time she would leave just as I stepped onto the beach, she truly hated me…
A month or so ago I realized why my mother had even started to talk to my sister, she wanted something; as I later found out she wanted new children to replace us, to hide the shameful children she once had. After years of trying of trying she managed to convince my sister to turn off the lighthouse, killing 13 sailors in the process. Lets just leave the rest of the story as that it didn’t go very well, barely two days later I got a letter inviting me to the school, at which my sister followed.
FAMILY: The only response that can be attained from her is this: “I have a sister, and a mother, but lets not get into that”. Family is a subject of which she can never speak of without then seeming distant, as if lost in another world, with smalls signs of pain etched across her face as she travels this hidden land
