Welcome dear students and staff members!

Welcome to Scholae Elementorum!

A school built to protect the magical creatures who walk this world.

Opened to students and staff from all around the globe since 1772, the school offers a large variety of activities and classes that will please everyone. The living environment includes a nearby lake of reasonable size, a gigantic forest harvested by the school staff over the centuries and highlands; different environments that will please everyone!
To offer the best services possible, the Headmistress of the establishment has chosen the best teachers seen though the last centuries. As you know, the life of a magical usually extends longer than the normal humans' but barely by a century or two. Thanks to the magic concoctions of the Headmistress, or so rumors say, you will be able to meet staff members that sometimes lived during the Dark Ages!

Inside the transformed castle, students will find a large cafeteria and classrooms on the first two floors and additional special locations. On the higher levels, the dormitories and common rooms can be found. But for you technological kids, which I hope are not numerous, do not expect to find wi-fi or available computers in the building. It is a miracle that electricity is available in a not so nearby village!

The school is under the care of the Headmistress, who does not wish to be called otherwise. Her capabilities of telekinesis and foresight are mainly used to keep the peace and stability in the hallways, as well as the reason why you have joined the establishment. Foreseeing the death of your character in a near future, the Headmistress has sent him/her a personalized message offering him/her to attend the school.

Offer which you accepted, since you are here, by the way.

Now then, enough said about the school, let's focus on you! Yes you, dear new student or member of the staff. Who are you? Where do you come from? We want to know more about you and the magical side in yourself that brought you to this establishment. Do not be ashamed, there is no discrimination accepted between these walls; we'll accept you as you are. So tell us now, are you a human with psychic abilities, a werewolf or perhaps an elemental? Unless you are a completely different case? Don't be shy, we are curious and want to know you!

It is time for you to register. Present yourself to us, we have awaited your arrival for so long! If you are afraid or unsure of the way you would rather complete that presentation, register and message us, admins. We'll be glad to help.

Once again, welcome to Scholae Elementorum!

So I got this weird book from the Headmistress...

Book given

What am I supposed to do with it?

This book is a little guide to life within the school. The first pages contain the following:
• A basic map of the school
• A secret pocket holding the student's key to his/her room
• A course schedule. Students are required to attend the majority of their classes and only miss them for good reasons.
• A handful of blank pages.

This book is meant to be used to take notes on different subjects and matters. It can be as simple as class notes or dates
at which works are due, it is left to the discression of the student. What the Headmistress would rather, when giving the
manual is for the students to record some of their memories. The book has magic properties which enables it to grow thicker and thicker everytime the pages are filled and new space is
required. Strangely enough, the large size of the book does not make it any heavier. Why was your character given such a book? It is to recreate the different stories that will be written on this site. Another possible use of the book is for the character to use it as a reference over what he learnt in class or as an agenda. It can serve any purpose or simply be dismissed. It is simply our welcome gift.

I'd like to join a story now!

I'm glad to hear that dear new player!

When it comes to being part of a story, you have 2 choices (simple no?)
• Joining an existing thread
• Creating a thread
Not to bad, eh?

Let's start from the start!

What's a thread?
A thread is basically the story itself. It's the series of messages that will be accumulated in a section; the accumulation of posts.

What's a post?
At this point, you probably have created one. It is a single message in which you put text. For answers to threads and stories, we expect a minimum of 200 words. To create a post in an existing thread, you simply have to go at the bottom of the page. You'll see this:
Post
Now you have a simple choice! You can either type your entire text in this little box, or click the button on the top right. It'll lead you to the more complete text box. This one has colors, writing styles, and other cool things!
Super Post
That's the page you should see if you click on post!

What to do now?
Quite simple, you simply type a reply! You create the next part of the story with your character as the one in control!
There are a few rules here though:
• 200 words per reply minimum
• Do not control the characters of the others (that includes NPCs if you didn't create them). You may repeat the actions in which they took part though (you can repeat what they did, to add your reaction to it).
• We do not require you to be perfect in your spelling and sentence structure, but please, no SMS words, try to type as if it was a school assignment due.
• This is more focussed on the thread itself, BUT, once people enter a story, the order at which everyone enters is to be kept. This gives a chance to everyone to reply. You can enter the story at anytime, it just adds you to the order!
And that's about it!
If you hesitate to enter a story because you don't know the mechanics well yeah, simply reply to the Headmistress in your character application. We are there to reply to you and make you practice. Don't be shy to interact!

You have now answered a thread!

--------

"Yes... but what if I want to start my own story?"

Well that's the other option; creating a thread.

How to start a thread?
First, you have to go on the main forum page
Roleplay Section
Second, you click on one of the two options offered above. "In school" if the story you want to write is to completely take place in school, or "Outings" if the story you want to write is about to get out of the school grounds.
In School
Third, let's say you decided to put your story in the school section. You see the little button on the right? Create Thread, well you simply have to click on it. You'll be able to create a story now. For the title, you may write anything that seems to fit your story (or at least the general direction that you want it to take). After the main title add a section between brackets stating [who the story is adressed to]. It can directed towards precise characters if you type their name, or general if you write open.
Fourth, you write you post and start the story!

There you go!

--------

"Hm... other question! I can't write a new thread or in any of them really. What's wrong?"

To write in any story, or anywhere other than character application, you have to be part of the group students or teachers. Make sure that you have been accepted.

If you have any other question, message your dear admins!
