Date: September 1st, Morning class
Pharos had been bright and early in coming to his class. Not only did he have the infamous first class of the year, but he was also getting the new students. His luck was truly looking bleak. He didn't know the powers of his students, never seen their faces. He hated the random factor in it all. He crossed a hallway and entered a rather weirdly decorated room for a castle this old. The castle's classes usually had a wooden feel to it. This one, on the other hand, had a ceramic type of feeling. The floor had it's wood stripped off to be replaced by cement. Yes it would hurt if you fell on it, but when one was practicing his or her magic, the floor wouldn't come to life with fire. It also helped earth users, giving them access to another weapon when in spars. The walls were made of spiraling ceramics, the back wall from the door had the School's insignia on it, the mighty Phoenix having it's wings out majestically. On the rocks on the floor, patterns would have been drawn. Most were circles, probably to limit sparring area. The only way to know would be to ask.
Because of this exact environment, cold drafts were a common thing. This is why Pharos sighed. "Can't have my students be cold on the first day can I?" He asked, drawing up his fists in a boxer stance fashion. He'd punch out into the air, a jet of flames flying out to one side of the room. The flames would sprawl out, like living beings that were finally being released into the world only to die out. A smile of pleasure came from the teacher as he turned around to punch towards the other side of the room, sending a second wave of flames out into the emptiness to heat the room up. Pharos repeated this as many times as he needed to warm up the room.
As soon as he felt it was warm enough, he walked over to the door next to a rather large window. The room was big, some would say it looked like the School's second gymnasium. Opening the door, he pulled out a rack of dull weapons. The weapons ranged from daggers to glaives. "For anybody picky enough to ask." He'd tell himself. He passed a hand in his ruggish red hair. "I really need a hair cut..." Pharos said with a chuckle. The spirit of flames would grab a sword, looking at its edge and remembering some of the adventures he'd had. Putting the sword back on the rack, he'd pull out the book he used as an agenda and checked the names of his students.
He'd now be sitting down in the middle of the center circle, the insignia of the Phoenix to his back as he faced the door to his gymnasium. One would be able to hear a 'what a nerdy name' come out of his mouth once in a while.

It is widely spread among children to be nervous before the start of a new scholar year. They wake up one morning and suddenly their entire year is somewhat decided; their school, classes, classmates, schedule, and so on. In one day they get to adapt to an entirely new environment because falling behind, in comparison to others, would probably ensue social exclusion. Because children are children. Having never attended school, nor left her village really, Eyildr was currently facing that nervousness to the extreme. She could be considered to be in a panic state really. The night had brought only so little hours of sleep; she had fallen asleep only in the early morning hours, out of exhaustion. The twins had arrived to school in the late afternoon, the previous day. They had been greeted by the headmistress and then offered a really basic tour of the establishment. Overall, the sisters had seen the general location of the classrooms, cafeteria and how to access the dormitories. The rest would come in due time, as they explored and observed the map, according to the experienced staff members, there was no need to overfill the heads of newcomers with useless knowledge or too large amounts of it. After visiting the building, the twins had been guided to their room to settle in.
By the time the sisters finished unpacking their small bags and choose who would have which bed and such, night had already fallen and everyone else had probably gone to bed. This meant that the hallways would be patrolled by teachers, making sure that students were sleeping and not fighting here and there. It was useless to think of going out to familiarize with the establishment, unfortunately. For the black haired nymph, anxiety levels were rising. She wanted to run around, explore and discover. The headmistress had not deemed her worthy of getting a place in this school and she wanted to prove the woman that she would do wonderfully in this school and adapt in no time. With nothing else to do really, apart maybe sleeping, the girl's mind focused, she had to learn the maps of the building by heart! That in mind, she took the book the headmistress had given her and started reading it through and through- well the few pages available. Familiarized with the school environment and her schedule, Eyildr started focusing on the map. From that point on, the night started speeding through as fast as light. Seconds turned into minutes who turned into hours, that without the black haired girl noticing. Conclusion? The child fell asleep around 4:50 out of exhaustion related to stress and apprehension.
Around 7:00, the nymphs were woken up by a lost bird crashing into their window. At the impact, Eyildr jumped out of bed startled, had she done something wrong already? "What in the bloody hell was that?" she whispered in Norwegian, after calming down. Only then did it strike her, she remembered where she was and what was going on. It was her first day of school!
It was only 7, but the girl started running around the room, rushing to get dressed. "I can finally go explore! Talk to you later sis!" was all she added before escaping barefoot and her hair not brushed. As she passed around the hallways, trying out paths and attempting to put in 3D what she had read on the map during the night, all that could be seen is long strands of jet black hair followed by stronger than normal wind currents.
After exploring the entire building and taking mental notes of rooms and doors that seemed to be promising more fun than the average locations, a bell started ringing across the school, informing the children that it was already 8. Classes started at 9. Eyildr headed for the cafeteria and attempted to grab some fish. Strangely, the meal wasn't offered this early and she would have to wait until noon. The nymph growled and left place as fast as she had walked in. She would have to pack up some fish to eat it in the morning, proper ocean nymphs only ate products of the ocean. Overall, it was hard to change schedule and the lack of sleep had made the child grumpy, so she decided to head for class. She took different paths and after turning corners, the nymph reached the gymnasium-like room. Eyildr pushed the door opened with a heavy sigh and walked in, grumbling about how stupid it was for the school to not have adapted their meals for aquatic beings. "If this keeps going on, I'll never develop my powers right!" she screamed in anger, letting her frustration out. She clenched her fists and only then noticed with the corner of her eye that the teacher was already there, sitting alone in the room. Her cheeks turned a deep shade of red and she started muttering incoherent excuses. "I didn't mean to scream, sorry sir.."

Was it the stress or the lack of sleep that caused her to sleep in rather late by her usual standards, barely waking up at the sound of what turned out to be a bird crashing into their window. jumping up slightly, although her head soon fell back down onto the pillow, "Just another minute sis..." She heard her sister run out of the room. not minding too much til a minute later when she awoke in a small jump once again, "She'll get lost, can't let her stay alone can I?!"
At this thought she jumped up, got dressed rather quickly, although once again only by her own standards, taking half an hour to be ready; She then ran out, slamming the door, rather carelessly, trying to find her sister. After practically half an hour, a strong headache hit her, with a strong sense of anger, which she recognised as her sister, but being too far couldn't get a good idea of what exactly was going on. A few minutes later she finally found what she was looking, and more; Her sister was in what was to be their first class, with someone else.
"uhmmm... Hello, sir?" she then turns to her sister and half mutters, aided by the mental link of the twins, in Norwegian "What was all that pissed off for exactly?!"

He looked up at the angry barging, moving his head to one side as a rather young girl walked in screaming and flustering around the corner and into his classroom. She had offered a comment at the stupidity of the school's meals. Then, a small apology was offered to him. Pharos chuckled at the display, getting up as he closed the book. "Well, I'm guessing, from your tone of voice, that our cafeteria's customs are not pleasurable? I would apologize about it if I cared a bit at the slop they give out." He said with a warm smile. "Apology accepted. Now! Putting a name to your face would be pleasant." He said, opening his book once more as he flipped through the pages. "You are.... Barbara Dunklam?" He asked, about to recite all the names of students until he got one correctly.
That was, obviously, before another young girl walked in. The new girl looked a lot like the first one, except for the hair color. He raised an eyebrow, flipping his book's pages. Looking for names that matched, he wasn't disappointed. As he did so, the newcomer spoke in what sounded like Norwegian. "Alright... so you two must be Eyildrr and Elevine Hrrio." He said, trying to sound of the names that were written in front of him. "Boy this is going to be fun...." he said sarcastically, not at all enjoying the foreign names of the two students. "Well, girls, my name is Pharos Lucent. I shall be your weapons teacher this year." He said, politely bowing.

"You are.... Barbara Dunklam?" asked the teacher. Eyildr sent the man a look of disbelief clearly stating that he was wrong. How could someone believe that she was named Barbara? That wasn't a proper Norwegian name, it was some southern weirdness. The nymph observed the man go through the pages again, giving him a chance to choose a proper name. If he accidentally fell on Elevine, it wouldn't be worst than that; close enough. Speaking of the devil, the door started opening behind the black haired girl. Immediately, she sensed the presence of her sister and she turned around to wave a quick hello to her. Eyildr observed her younger twin great the teacher and noticed that something was.. off? How could it have been so early? The year had barely started. "What was all that pissed off for exactly?!" The nymph frowned at the question, trying to remember the cause of her anger. Right! They didn't have any fish to serve in the morning. That was an outrageous situation!
"Alright... so you two must be Eyildrr and Elevine Hrrio." The child turned around yet again, completely distracted. Clearly, she wasn't really good at focusing this morning, "It's Eyildr and Elevine Hrið, sir." she corrected the man. "Sorry for the hard pronunciation, Nordic languages decided to be quite a handful to speak for Anglophones," she added with an evil smirk. She allowed pronunciation mistakes for the first week, after that delay, she would grow pissed at the man for not trying. The teacher presented himself and the child nodded, understanding. "Parossssssss Lukent," she half-repeated, mimicking his earlier mistake. "I should be able to remember that," she completed. It was not in the nymph's nature to play with words so much and to act like a pest, but anger right now was building up yet again, a little tornado of ideas going in all directions, in her head. "Right! Why was I so angry?" she said, turning to face her sister. "Do you know what they don't serve at the cafeteria?" she asked in Norwegian. After a short pause, she answered her own question. "Fish! No proper fish! How will I ever become a proper ocean nymph if I can't eat the food of my people!" she explained, her voice turning into a scream.
Stress was clearly getting the best of the child.

This time not even taking the care to mumble, to alert bystanders of them actually conversing rather than just staring awkwardly at each other, a loud mental sigh was pushed to her sister, with a half scrambled mental note about her being brainwashed, though the exact words weren't thought out leaving only the meaning to be thought.
"Alright... so you two must be Eyildrr and Elevine Hrrio" Hearing their names called out, she turns to the man once again, wondering how her sister will react to her name being destroyed, which she seems to not react too strongly against, for now at the very least, although she did answer: "Sorry for the hard pronunciation, Nordic languages decided to be quite a handful to speak for Anglophones," to which atop her 4'9 stature she jumped in with a rather ridiculous "True! And, technically I'm Elevine Malm-Hrið" She then scanned to see if her sister would react to the man presenting himself, as always being on the prowl for a moment where her sister would need her, just before each syllable spoken its intent was broadcast, letting Elevine speak in perfect harmony with her, "Parossssssss Lukent", the sound of the double voices making them sound ground in such a poorly constructed room audibly speaking. She was rather proud of her sister for having gotten a jab back at him, although that only lasted a few seconds.
"How will I ever become a proper ocean nymph if I can't eat the food of my people!" Now practically screaming, hoping for her sister to stop believing in such lies, she says "You never will be, no matter how much fish you eat, no matter how much you want to be; you are not, and never will be, an ocean nymph!" her voices calms physically, although mentally, she redoubles in strength, her normal sign of speaking truth, "Mother... lied to you, she brainwashed you... Those sailors were to replace us, so that she could be seen as a proper nymph once again..."

Aédan sprang up from his bed. "Damn it!" He thought, looking at the time. 5 minutes, he had 5 minutes to get to class. He stumbled over to the outfit his sister Ayanna had picked out last night before they had switched. He slipped on the pants, dress shirt and tie, grabbed the book bag he shared with Ayanne and ran out the door.
Aédan got to the classroom doors panting, his white/blond hair muffled, his tie barely knotted properly. He stumbled through the doors.
"Hmm, toasty, thank you Pharos!" He thought to himself as he stepped in.
"Sorry we're late," he said running a hand through his hair, giving an apologetic look to the teacher, and taking a glimpse at the students in the corner.
Every year, he and his sister liked to stun the new students arriving to the school. It had become a tradition that they walk into the class as one twin, and randomly switch throughout the class just to shock the newbies.
He approached the two nymphs who were standing only inches apart. "Hi, I'm Aédan Storm," he said, holding out his hand in which a tiny ball of fire danced. He closed his fist around the fireball.
He cocked his head to one side thinking: "Wait till they see this."
His body then began to morph. His light hair grew a few inches, his eyes darkened a few shades of blue. The fire ruins on his arms began changing from red to blue. His small frame became curvier, more feminine. The body now wore a different smile. A softer, more gentle smile. The female twin held out her hand, this time, it was craddling a ball of ice.
"And I am Reoánaigh Ayanna."

An eyebrow raised as the twins spoke in unison. He sighed. It's going to be -that- type of twins, he thought to himself. He had gone off into his own little mind palace as they talked, thinking about how it would be to have a twin sharing his brain. Not the most fun. One of his cousins were twins, and look what that got them into... He chuckled, not paying to much attention as they talked. His mind then went on to rules, and how he should have a rule written down somewhere that the students. As soon as the students walked through those doorways, they had to speak a language the teacher could understand. Yeah... that's pretty smart, he thought to himself. But then the twins got angry. He came back to, not knowing what they were talking about but had caught the word 'Nymph' go through.
"Oi!" He screamed, slamming the book shut loud enough for the noise of it to reverberate of the walls. The room seemed to warm up a degree or two at his annoyance. He got up, eyes threateningly blazing. "That's enough from both of you. I don't know what quarrels you have, but once you walk through those doors it is peace and calm. If you hadn't noticed, there are weapons here. They may be dull, but they are still very deadly. Now stop bickering like children and sit down." He said. In any other cases, Pharos would have gladly let the two bicker on. Hell, he'd have been first to sit down and look at the chaos that ensued. But not here. Not in -his- class, on the first day of school. "Do you know how hard it is to wipe Nymph blood from rocks? I don't want to know." He called to them.
Then a fourth party came in. He sighed. "You're not late, class hasn't even started yet. Someone pulled your alarm a bit late." He said with a chuckle, his eyes going back to the twins bickering. He'd cross his arms, ready if the two twins did not listen to him.

Eyildr stared at her sister, mentally growling at the other nymph to show her anger. Inside her own body, the child could feel her veins pulse in rage, trying to burn down her veins. "She didn't lie to me!" she screamed. "Mom would NEVER lie to me!" Wind started spiraling around the girl in clear lack of control, no one could talk badly of her mother, even her twin. Yes, Eyildr could understand that Elevine and their mother did not share the best relationship, but that didn't mean that her sister could say horrible things like that. "Oi!" shouted another voice, the nymph recognized as Pharos'. The black haired girl stopped herself and turned around to look at the teacher. The man was clearly mad and the room had warmed up in a blink of an eye. A fire being.. growled the child, mentally. That's the real enemy we should be facing, not your stupid conspiracy theories, Elevine. The nymph observed blankly the man finish a speech she wasn't listening to, wondering how could a fire spirit be placed so high in a hierarchy. "Do you know how hard it is to wipe Nymph blood from rocks? I don't want to know." Eyildr rolled her eyes in defiance, "A nymph's blood is purer than a fire being's. You should be glad if ever such a perfect blood soiled your walls."
As if on cue, another person entered the room precisely at that time. The nymph turned around to observe the new comer, a guy. Was this school only counting boys? The stranger quickly asked for forgiveness for his un-existing lateness. Eyildr frowned and tilted her head, how could anyone be that confused? The new comer walked towards the twins, forcing the black haired one to step back; she didn't like unknown things. "Hi, I'm Aédan Storm," he said. The nymph nodded dismissively, looking away. Go away, we were discussing serious business, she thought. As the girl started feeling an increase in warmth, she finally looked up at the boy; noticing the fire ball he was holding. A snarl started forming on the girl's lips when suddenly, the boy morphed.
In surprise, Eyildr jumped away from the now female being holding ice. What in the --- was that type of power? The nymph quickly sent a look at her teacher, trying to see if he could explain to her the phenomena. How did they do that? They're not shapeshifters.. whispered the girl to her sister, mentally. The twin took a deep breath, to calm her mind, and stepped back again, until her back could rest against the wall. She would not let a stranger surprise or get to her. Thankfully, this entire change in the young nymph's focus had brought away the reason of her anger. Calmer, Eyildr quickly scanned the room, spotting the weapons and trying to understand their functioning and use.
"That's a lot of weapons you got there, sir." she finally commented in awe and fright.

Class hadn't even started by the time Osyth caught the first inklings of conflict brewing. He caught himself smiling. This year's batch seem to have more spine than the last bunch, he thought with relish. Most students waited until at least the second week before throwing fits. Casting his mind through the school grounds, he found the seeds of the conflict. Lucent's room, he realized, his grin growing. Figures. The wisp faded from existence...
...and glowed in reality a few feet behind and above the figure of Pharos Lucent. Osyth opted to remain in wisp form for the moment. Nothing had gotten out of hand yet anyways, and Osyth certainly wasn't going to be the person who stopped them before they started. The room was bathed in the flames that Pharos always set out to impress the first year students, the practice weapons wheeled out. Only three students had yet made it to class, which doesn't start for at least another half-hour, Osyth noted dryly. Two of them were clearly twins and one of them seemed to be having a proper fit. The other seemed to be trying to calm her? Osyth wasn't quite sure, but he kept an eye on the two of them either way. The third had just transformed before his eyes, but otherwise didn't seem to be a threat.
No one seemed to have noticed Osyth's presence yet; close as he was to Pharos' flames, he figured that his light must be masked. He briefly considered keeping himself anonymous for the moment, but decided to at least let Lucent know he was here. Osyth remembered the last time he had surprised the fire spirit with a shudder. Osyth did not like fire.
"I'll be watching, Lucent," Osyth whispered, loud only enough for his fellow staff-member to hear. He hoped. He realized, perhaps belatedly, that he didn't quite know the extent of the first years' capabilities yet. Oh well.
